The measurement of a transformer's DC resistance is a fundamental test performed during its manufacturing process (on both semi-finished and finished products) and is essential for field operations including installation, overhaul, tap changer maintenance, handover, and preventive testing; this diagnostic procedure checks for critical issues such as winding joint quality, interturn shorts, tap changer contact integrity and position accuracy, as well as broken wires or strands. To perform this test efficiently, the specialized instrument incorporates advanced power supply technology, making it compact, lightweight, and capable of delivering a large output current with high repeatability, strong anti-interference, and full protection; under the control of a high-speed microcontroller, the automated system ensures precise, simple, and rapid measurements, complete with automatic discharge and alarm functions for operator safety.
